Training & Teaching of Student Doctors

We believe that educating future doctors is an important part of our work. Nottingham Medical School uses Whyburn Medical Practice to teach student doctors, so you may find a student sitting in.

A notice at the reception desk will give you warning. If you have any objection to his/her presence, please let us know and the student will leave the room whilst you are seeing the doctor.

We usually have a Foundation Doctor and/or two GP Registrars working in the practice. These are qualified doctors, undergoing further professional training with us for several months.

As part of their training, some consultations may be videoed – you will always be offered the opportunity to turn the video off!
